directives:define

The define statement has two forms:

any number of keys each with single-line values
a key with a multi-line value

A key is any string of characters with no whitespace. A value is whatever follows a key up to the end of the line in the first form of define or up to the first blank line (the end of the block) in the second form.

Substitution of a value for a key occurs when ${ key } is placed in the text.
